South Florida Gambling Ships

Though there are frequently referendums to introduce casinos to the South Florida economy, as of yet gambling in Florida is not legal.  Of course, this is not a problem.  Just don't gamble in Florida . . . instead gamble on the Indian reservations (in Florida, but not Florida) or on the High Seas just a few minutes from the docks.  Actually it is a nice way to spend an evening.  Here is a list of your options on the Seas.

THE KEYS

SunCruz - Key Largo - The concept is interesting - you catch a boat to go out to the gambling ship and return when you like (three hour minimum stay.) The port of Key Largo is beautiful at night and the ride is quick out to the ship. However, the ship is small and crowded and offers no access to decks or outside areas.

MIAMI-DADE

Star Dancer - Miami - Is quick out to gamble, but the ship is extremely spartan with no extras.

Casino Princesa - Miami - The Casino Princesa is a new ship and has a beautiful port atmosphere at Bayside in Miami.

BROWARD

SunCruz - Broward - Designed specifically as a gambling ship, the SunCruz offers spacious areas and lots of different games.

SeaEscape - Broward - The SeaEscape, which features rooms for rent during the cruise and several other diversions, is a large ocean-going vessel.

PALM BEACH

Palm Beach Princess - Rivera Beach - One of the larger ships in South Florida, the Palm Beach Princess a clean atmosphere and a real large ocean-vessel feel. It also offers other attractions including a pool, disco and skeet shooting.

Sun Cruz - Palm Beach - Another in the Sun Cruz line. This ship is somewhat smaller than the ship in Broward.
